Ludovica Isidori

Cinematographer

An Italian cinematographer with a fiery passion for intimate stories with a social impact, Ludovica Isidori holds an MA in Cinema and Television studies from IULM, Milano and a MFA in Cinematography from the prestigious American Film Institute, where she also received the Olivadotti Scholarship for craftsmanship excellence.

Before moving to the US, Ludovica worked with Franesco Zanot, a photography curator for FORMA, and trained under the fashion photographer Gianguido Rossi; the combination of those experiences shaped Ludovica’s eye for poignant and hidden beauty and her refined understanding of aesthetic rules.

During a decade in the US, Ludovica has lensed and contributed to renowned and impactful movies. 

Dreams in Nightmares, the independent feature film she lensed for director Shatara Michelle Ford, premiered at Berlinale 2025, while Test Pattern, the first collaborators between the two artists, received global appraise from high-profile magazines such as IndieWire, The New York Times et The Rolling stone, and is distributed by Kino Lorber.

In 2022 Ludovica worked on Sanctuary, a feature film starring Margaret Qualley and Christopher Abbot and directed by Zach Wigon. The movie premiered at TIFF 2022 and was internationally applauded.

Other projects worth mentioning are The Harbinger, an independent psychological horror film directed by Andy Mitton and presented at the Fantasia Film Festival, and Wakhri, directed by Iram Parveel Bilal and shot in Pakistan over the course of two months, the story of disobedience via social media, which premiered at SXSW. 

Ludovica also worked for TV, documentaries and commercials; she has currently two projects in post production, starring Emma Roberts and Noomi Rapace.

In 2024 Ludovica became an AIC member.
